A South African Adventure

I thought it might be a good idea to kick start this blog with a little bit about what Oaktree UK - the organisation which I have established in the UK over the past two years - is up to this summer.

We're all about young people and education. We want to see empowered young people in the UK and across the world taking action to create lasting change in their communities. This July we are launching our Schools 4 Schools Programme - which links schools in the UK with schools in impoverished and underserved communities in South Africa.

Three sixteen year old pioneers from local Oxford schools are heading out to South Africa TOMORROW to meet their partner schools. It is going to be an incredible time to see young people from different cultural and national backgrounds discussing ways in which they can work together to combat poverty and injustice.

Keep up to speed with the developments of the trip on the Oaktree UK website - under blogs - www.theoaktreeuk.org. Is it bad to promote another blog in your first post on your own?!
